SMALL DOG (DROP-OFF) TRAINING

Drop off your dog with me at my home (by Square One in Mississauga) where your dog can learn or practice essential dog training skills! Book and drop off your dog so that he/she gets to spend some time with me and work on different dog training lessons. When it comes to dog training, we see it as teaching our dogs different types of skills that we would be happy to see them repeat. Some examples of what we work on includes leash manners, recall, stay/on your place and other similar lessons that are practical for our dogs to understand and perform with us, out in the real world.

It's important to note that dog training requires not only time and practice, but also a dog that is emotionally and mentally ready to hear and respond to their handler accordingly. This is sometimes difficult for some dogs because we might first need to tackle other, more so enrichment or socialization-related concerns such as a lack of proper emotional regulation, self-esteem pent up energy/boredom, anxiety and more. Any downtime during this session allows your dog to be able to take a break from training, decompress, regulate their emotions and prevent them from feeling overwhelmed or overtired (which would then be counterproductive). How is this Drop-Off service different than the others? Drop-Off Dog Training is mainly for dogs that are ready to take their listening and focus skills to the next level. Our Drop-Off Training sessions will be recommended mostly for dogs who do not exhibit any enrichment or socialization concerns, and are ready to practice real-life lessons both indoors and outdoors, to better enhance their skills with their pet parents at home. Contact us, or book an at-home private session to start. Dog Trainer: Carlos When/How: Date/Time of your choosing. One session (book more as you need). Where: Walking distance to Square One mall. Contact us after booking or see the exact address when booking online. Please note: - Ongoing text/phone support is available before & after your session(s) via WhatsApp.

Dog training = progress, not perfection
00:54
Dog training, more specifically behaviour modification is not flashy. It's also not something that takes days, weeks or even months. it can sometimes feel like it takes forever to start seeing results, but that's when you want to focus on progress more than anything. Because if you look closely, it's there. In this clip, no Chloe doesn't just ignore all dogs right away. But that's okay, because that's not the goal anyway. Dogs, much like us, feel and care about different things around them. In Chloe's case, she cares and feels about other dogs walking her way. That's something that will likely never change. There will always be some form of feeling there, but that's something that we can relate to as we also have scenarios that mean a lot to us, no matter our behaviour. With practice however, and what I do focus on is Chloe's progress, particularly her ability to make a different/better choice than what she has done in the past. My goal is not for her to simply not feel things, but rather go through those emotions AND be able to overcome them the way she does in these clips. I'm proud of how far she has come this year, and how she's learning that she can regulate her emotions if we set her up in environments where she'll succeed! Well done Chloe! Side note, it's important to also pay close attention to my reaction. While most would be trying to control their dog, I don't. And that's because I've purposely set Chloe up in spacious and calm settings like this where all she needs to worry about is how she's feeling inside, and subsequently the choices she's making (and reinforcing choices I like with my attention/rewards). If I felt like I had to do more than that, that would mean that we're in settings that we're not ready for. Dog training is not about controlling how your dog feels, but rather helping them process their emotions towards better decisions.
